Honoring Our Veterans with Compassionate In-Home Care

At ComForCare’s national headquarters, we operate with a singular mission: to provide the men and women who served our nation with the clinical excellence and personal dignity they deserve. As a nationwide leader in home care, we are committed to bridging the gap between VA-authorized benefits and high-quality, person-centered care required to maintain independence at home.

Through our strategic alignment with Veterans Administration programs, we facilitate access to fully funded care solutions. Our objective is to mitigate the financial burden of home care on Veteran families for eligible participants. From ADL (Activities of Daily Living) assistance to complex personal care, we manage the administrative and logistical complexities so you can prioritize family.

Service Availability & Local Jurisdictions

ComForCare is a franchised network of independently owned and operated locations. Clinical services, VA contract participation, and program availability are subject to geographic location. Not all offices are credentialed for every VA program. Please consult your local ComForCare office to verify their specific Provider Agreements and service capabilities.

Navigating the Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (VACCN)

Many ComForCare locations serve as approved providers within the VACCN, the primary vehicle for Veterans to receive community-based care. When the VA determines that "community care" is required—due to wait times, distance, or service availability at a VAMC (VA Medical Center) you have the right to designate your preferred provider. Where available, we offer the specialized infrastructure to honor that choice.

Comprehensive Clinical & Administrative Support

In participating locations, our professional teams provide:

  • Benefit Eligibility Analysis: Evaluating your current status to identify applicable programs that cover in-home care.
  • Authorization Management: Streamlining the procurement and maintenance of VA forms or specific care authorizations needed for application submission.
  • Skilled & Non-Skilled Support: Delivering care under specific billing codes, including Home Health Aide (G0156) for clinical support and Unskilled Respite Care (S5150) to prevent family caregiver burnout.
  • Aid & Attendance Pension Navigation: Providing education on this non-service-connected pension and assistance with the submission of paperwork; this benefit provides supplemental funding for long-term care services, including in-home clinical support and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).

VA Community Care Network (VACCN) - Homemaker Companion (Healthcare Benefit)

Enrolled in VA Health Care with a clinical need for personal care assistance. This support aims to prevent nursing home placement and assist Veterans with chronic conditions, post-hospital discharge transitions, or long-term, ongoing care.

Participating offices bill the VA directly, ensuring seamless administration.

Aid & Attendance (Pension)

Eligibility requires 90 days of active service, including at least one day during a recognized war period, and a documented medical need for assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) or housebound care.

A monthly tax-free payment provided to help cover the cost of care. We facilitate connections with Accredited VSOs for application submission.

Clinical & Service Requirements

To qualify for VA home care benefits, the Veteran typically must demonstrate:

  • Service Credentialing: Verified active duty service with an Honorable or General discharge status (DD-214).
  • Functional Limitations: A clinical need for assistance with multiple ADLs or IADLs (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living).
  • Financial Thresholds: For pension-based benefits, net worth and annual income must fall within the MAPR (Maximum Annual Pension Rate) limits.
  • Clinical Need: Requires assistance with activities such as bathing, dressing, or meal preparation.
