In-Home Care for Veterans

In-Home Care Services provided in partnership with the Office of Veterans Affairs

Honoring Our Veterans with Compassionate In-Home Care

ComForCare is deeply honored to serve the men and women who have served our nation. We are committed to providing the dignity, respect, and high-quality in-home care that Veterans and their families deserve.

As a Veterans Administration contracted partner, ComForCare provides care through fully funded programs. In many cases, this allows eligible families to receive quality in-home care at no out-of-pocket cost. Whether your loved one needs help with daily routines or personalized personal care, we handle the logistics so you can focus on family.

Our Partnership Simplifies Your Access to Care

ComForCare is an approved provider in the Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (VACCN).

This network supports Veterans who require in-home assistance. If the VA authorizes caregiving services for you, you have the right to select your own provider. We would be honored to be your choice.

How We Support Veteran Families:

  • Benefit Guidance: We help you understand which programs and benefits you may qualify for.
  • Authorization Support: We guide you through the process of obtaining or transferring a VA authorization for care.
  • Professional Caregiving: We provide high-quality, personalized care tailored to the Veteran’s needs. Our VA healthcare authorized services often include Home Health Aide support (G0156) and Unskilled Respite Care (S5150).
  • Access Aid & Attendance: We educate veterans on this benefit, which provides coverage for non-medical services. Unlike other programs, it does not require enrollment in VA health care to qualify.

Veteran Administration Programs We Support

We specialize in helping families navigate the two primary paths for in-home care funding:

Key Benefit and How ComForCare Can Assist:

VA Community Care Network (VACCN) - Homemaker Companion (Health Care Benefit)

Veterans who have VA health insurance and need supportive care services outside of VA Medical Centers (VAMCs) can receive professional support to remain independent at home.

The VA reimburses ComForCare directly for authorized home care hours. By billing the VA directly, we eliminate extra steps for veterans and their families, ensuring a seamless experience.

Aid & Attendance (Pension)

This benefit is available to veterans or surviving spouses who require assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). To qualify, the veteran must have served at least 90 days of active duty, including at least one day during a recognized period of war.

The Aid & Attendance benefit provides a monthly payment to help cover the cost of home care. ComForCare collaborates with your local VSO to guide you through the application and approval process.

Do You Qualify for Home Care Benefits?

To qualify for most Veteran home care benefits, the senior must meet these general criteria:

  1. Service: Served in active duty and had an honorable discharge.
  2. Clinical Need: Requires assistance with activities such as bathing, dressing, or meal preparation.
  3. Financial: For the Pension-based aid & attendant benefit, specific income and asset limits apply.
  4. Enrolled in VA Health Care System: For the homemaker companion program, veterans generally qualify by being enrolled in the VA health care system and need to demonstrate a need for supportive care.
