Compassionate Companionship in Florida

Participating in meaningful activities allows older adults to have human connections and can help make their day brighter. Our Companion Caregivers can play board games and card games, read novels or magazines, listen to music, or just chat -it's up to you.

Companion Care the ComForCare Way

Our experienced and compassionate caregivers are available to assist with mobility around the house, hobbies, and attending social events. They can also just sit back and chat with your loved one. Our caregivers report enjoying the companionship time, too; they love to hear stories of days gone by or engage in a game of checkers. It’s up to you or your loved one’s social style.

Some of the ways we offer companionship:

  • Planning & Scheduling Daily Activities
  • Appointment Setting & Reminders
  • Assisting with Hobbies & Crafts
  • Reading Aloud
  • Maintaining Calendars
  • Birthday Reminders
  • Walking & Talking
  • Renting & Watching Movies

Family caregivers need to have some time to rest and recharge to stay healthy. When family caregivers need temporary relief, we provide peace of mind. Our families thank us again and again when they realize it truly is a team effort, and we are there for them, too.

With ComForCare as part of your “team,” you know you are being cared for, you feel it. Knowing a dedicated caregiver is there to help, or is on their way can be a huge relief some days. Should questions arise, our management team is responsive and available. Rest assured you will always be taken care of because we want you to live your best life possible.

Caring for a Loved One
with Dementia

ComForCare's exclusive DementiaWise® program brings caregivers to your door who are specially trained to engage and enhance the lives of those with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia while providing support and education for your family. The DementiaWise® program implements proven practices for dementia care, follows strategies to recognize behavioral triggers, and take special care to decrease challenging dementia behaviors.

Creating a personalized daily routine and setting goals is another method that directs a person with dementia toward positive emotional experiences. We encourage family members to have a schedule for health purposes, too. Our caregiver's presence offers respite for family caregivers to run errands, take a break, or take a nap. You must take time for yourself and rejuvenate.

Our caregivers are trained to guide your loved ones to engage in meaningful activities. The Joyful Memories® program creates connections in older adults using the power of music. Research shows that the areas of the brain that store musical memories are the last to deteriorate. Music often inspires those who rarely speak to sing. It encourages movement and brings out those who are becoming withdrawn.

With ComForCare at your side, you can expect your loved one to have better days, and you will both enjoy more quality time together.

ComForCare's DementiaWise® is recognized by the Alzheimer's Association® for incorporating evidenced-based Dementia Care Practice Recommendations in the following topic areas: Alzheimer's and dementia, person-centered care, assessment, and care planning, activities of daily living, and behaviors and communication.

  • "Patricia has been great with my 93 year old mother!"
She's creative and just seems to know what my mother needs and wants. She's a great aid to me knowing doctors visits, prescription pick-up and grocery runs are all taken care of - big load off my mind and schedule.
  • "The owners and nurse are fantastic!"
Always willing to take calls from my Mom and explain things in a way she and I can understand. Also walked us through the insurance process. That was not easy and their expertise was greatly appreciated.
  • "ComForCare has given me peace of mind!"
The fact that ComForCare was able to step in with certified dementia care specialists and begin caring for my father has been fantastic. The staff and caregivers are both sympathetic and empathetic and I feel it has helped my father during this difficult time. It has also given me peace of mind since I live a long distance from my father, and the communication from staff and caregivers is reassuring.
