Disability Home Care Services

Children and adults with physical or developmental disabilities or other challenges often need hands-on care around the clock, ComForCare is here to help!

Developmental Disability Support

ComForCare Home Care is proud to provide fully covered in-home respite care services for families supporting neurodivergent children and adults, including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Through our partnership with local regional centers, like the Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB), we ensure eligible families have access to zero-cost respite care that meets their needs. These partnerships allow us to deliver reliable, high-quality support designed to help families and their loved ones thrive at home.

Personalized Care for Developmentally Disabled Individuals

At ComForCare, we understand the unique needs of each individual. Our respite care plans are personalized to fit the abilities, interests, and preferences of every client, including those with ASD or other developmental disabilities. We provide specialized support, from sensory-friendly activities to assistance with daily living, fostering independence and enrichment. Whether it’s creating a calm environment or engaging with favorite hobbies, our caregivers ensure your loved ones receive compassionate, individualized care in the comfort of their home.

Support for Families

Family caregivers often dedicate incredible time and energy to supporting their neurodivergent loved ones. ComForCare’s fully covered respite care services aim to alleviate this burden by offering caregivers an opportunity to rest, attend to personal needs, or recharge. While families take a well-deserved break, our trained professionals provide expert and empathetic care. By partnering closely with families, we ensure our services align with the loved one’s established routines and preferences, fostering trust and peace of mind.

What Is Disability Management

Children and adults with physical disabilities or other challenges often need hands-on care around the clock. Issues such as developmental delays, cognitive disabilities, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy and autism may inhibit one’s ability to perform daily tasks on their own. This is where disability management can help.

Disability Management and Medical Assistance

Many conditions come with complications that require frequent doctor’s visits, therapies, and medication management. This personalized care plan is created and overseen by a registered nurse or other health professional. We thoroughly equip our caregivers for specific disabilities, so they know what to expect, what to look for and how best to help. When needed, our caregivers know to seek medical assistance to make sure your family or friend is kept safe and comfortable.

Companionship

Living life with a disability can be lonely, and our caregivers make sure to take ample time to provide companionship. Companionship services are tailored to match your loved one’s abilities and interests while supporting their internal growth. Caregivers may play brain games, memory games, read stories or current events, listen to music or just sit and talk with clients. If clients are able and interested, caregivers may bring them to social functions or local events to enjoy the scenery and interaction.

Family Respite

We provide a wide range of respite care services allowing family caregivers the opportunity to take time for themselves without worry. Whether you need just a few hours a week or long-term assistance, we can provide the care services that meet your family’s unique needs. This can help you to better manage work schedules and other responsibilities while reducing the pressure of caregiving. A little respite care can go a long way toward helping you, and the person being cared for enjoy each other’s company more.
