Families in East Dallas who are caring for someone with dementia may qualify for extra help through the GUIDE (Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience) program. This benefit provides up to $2,563 annually — equal to about 72 hours of covered respite care each year.

Who qualifies for the GUIDE program?
Anyone with a dementia diagnosis who has Original Medicare, lives at home, and resides in our East Dallas service area.
How quickly can respite care start?
Often within 2–4 days, depending on scheduling.
Can respite care become ongoing care?
Yes. Many families start with short-term respite and transition into a regular care schedule.
