“I’m straightforward and honest and bring a level of integrity to everything I do.”
My journey to home care has been an interesting journey full of twists and turns. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance, I spent the early part of my career knee-deep in accounting and numbers before transitioning into sales and marketing at various consumer packaged goods companies, including Heinz and StarKist.
While I’ve always enjoyed my career, I couldn’t help but feel that it lacked purpose and a sense of giving back to my community on a deeper level. That’s where ComForCare comes in. These days, I consider finance, sales and marketing my past and helping others my future.
As my role in corporate America wound down, I was looking for a business and legacy to leave my family one day. After living my life beholden to the bottom line, I wanted a career that gave back and was truly worthwhile. ComForCare quickly rose to the top, and I’m proud to call it home today.
I watched my wife and her siblings devote their lives to caring for their mother. While that was nearly 20 years ago, the experience sticks with me to this day. It’s what called me to become a home care resource for my community and that is a role I take very seriously.
My wife will be the first to tell you I’m extremely regimented and live life by the book. Those are qualities I’m proud of. I am straightforward and honest, and that you can rely on. I think the world needs more of that kind of reliability these days, and I’m happy to provide it for my community.
Mike Barron wants his entire staff to feel supported, and that is why everyone has access to him 24/7. Mike cares about his staff and makes sure they are supported in every way. He depends on them for feedback, to know what is working, what isn’t, and what they need to best do their jobs. Everyone has his cell phone number and he expects them to use it. Professional care for clients’ needs day and night is ComForCare NW Pittsburgh’s number one goal.

Michelle’s passion for honoring and serving the elder community brought her to Comforcare. While growing up in the North Hills area she frequently spent time listening and helping seniors. She enjoyed many years in a sales and marketing career that centered around building relationships while helping to address business challenges. Prior to joining Comforcare she was connecting families with the gift of hospice. “There’s no greater joy then knowing you have made a difference for others.” Michelle helped her own mother and grandmother to age in place and is excited for the opportunity to support the comforcare team to help others do the same.
Clinical Supervisor
Brittany started her career working as an activities assistant in an assisted living facility. While in nursing school, she also worked in the facility as a receptionist, medication technician and finally as a registered nurse. While she loved the 5 years spent working with the geriatric population, she knew her calling was providing care to terminally ill patients. Brittany proudly worked in hospice and palliative care for 15 years. She enjoyed getting to know patients and their family members while helping them live as comfortably as possible. Now at ComForCare, Brittany is looking forward to meeting clients and working with them to individualize the care and assistance they need. Her role is to complete assessments, care plans and supervise our caregivers.
