ComForCare Home Care San Diego & La Jolla is an authorized San Diego Regional Center vendor. We work directly with SDRC service coordinators to deliver respite care and personal assistance for individuals with developmental disabilities across Central San Diego. We have been serving families in this community for over 20 years. Families looking for additional support options can also explore our Disability Management services, which provide personalized care for individuals living with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities throughout San Diego.

The San Diego Regional Center is a state-funded agency that coordinates services and support for
individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including
autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and related conditions. It serves both children and adults throughout San Diego County. Families work with an assigned service coordinator who develops an Individual Program Plan and authorizes services based on their loved one’s specific goals and needs.

We are vendored to provide two core services through the San Diego Regional Center for children and adults ages 3 and up.
The Regional Center calls it respite care. What it actually means is giving you a break. Our thoroughly screened caregivers come to your home so you can step away, rest, and handle what you need to handle. These are professionals who understand behavioral support and daily routines, not a babysitting registry. Learn more about how our dedicated Respite and Short-Term Care services help family caregivers take time to rest and recharge while ensuring their loved one receives compassionate support.
Flexible, one-on-one support built around your loved one’s IPP goals. That might mean working on independent living skills at home in Hillcrest, supporting someone through their morning routine in Clairemont, or accompanying an individual to a program in Mission Valley. Personal assistance includes help with daily tasks like bathing, grooming, dressing, meal prep, and getting around the community safely.
Through SDRC’s personal caregiver program, you can designate someone you already trust as your paid caregiver. We have siblings caring for siblings, grandmothers caring for grandchildren, and friends caring for friends. ComForCare serves as the employer of record and handles all hiring, payroll, compliance, and paperwork so your family can focus on care.

Getting started is straightforward.
1. Contact your SDRC service coordinator and request ComForCare Home Care San Diego & La Jolla as your vendor.
2. Your coordinator confirms authorization and connects with our office.
3. We schedule an intake conversation and build a care plan around your IPP goals.
4. Care begins. We handle all coordination with SDRC directly so you do not have to.
We provide SDRC services for children and adults ages 3 and up who are enrolled with the San Diego Regional Center and have been approved for respite or personal assistance in their IPP. We have been serving families in this community for over 20 years. We know the neighborhoods, the resources, and what it means to show up for families who depend on us. This is not a national call center. Our owner Hasan Ali cofounded the Special Needs Business Coalition of San Diego and serves on the steering committee of the Caregiver Coalition of San Diego. This community is personal to him.
We also offer something most vendors do not. Through SDRC’s personal caregiver program, we have siblings caring for siblings, grandmothers caring for grandchildren, and friends caring for friends. We handle all the employment paperwork so the people your loved one already trusts can be paid to provide their care.
Can I choose my own caregiver?
Yes. Through SDRC’s personal caregiver program you can designate anyone your family trusts. We have siblings caring for siblings, grandmothers caring for grandchildren, and friends caring for friends. ComForCare handles all employment paperwork and ensures they are paid properly through SDRC.
Do you serve children?
Yes. We serve both children and adults ages 3 and up who are enrolled with SDRC and have approved hours in their IPP.
Does ComForCare work with SDRC coordinators directly?
Yes. Once you name us as your vendor we coordinate authorization, scheduling, and reporting directly with your coordinator. You do not have to manage that back and forth yourself.
Can services happen outside the home?
Yes. Personal assistance can be provided at home, in the community, or wherever your loved one needs support to meet their IPP goals.
