“Being able to give others the gift of home care is truly my honor.”
Dave comes from corporate America where for 20+ years he had worked in the commercial real estate space with Fortune 20 companies like United Health Group and JPMorgan Chase. While it was fulfilling and allowed him to be there for his three children (and all their school activities and sporting events), he always knew he could be helping others on a deeper level. He soon was introduced to the Home Care concept and knew right away this was the field he wanted to be in. Home Care to him is a calling and has afforded him the opportunity to spend the rest of his career working in a more purposeful arena helping elderly and disabled clients live their best life possible with dignity in their own homes.

Laura Smithen is our Admin and oversees operations. She has an entrepreneurial background is being an entrepreneur owning her own business so sales and operations are her top strengths. She is excited to use her experience to help streamline the back office so the real attention can be on our clients and providing excellent care. We are proud to have Laura on the team! She was drawn the the importance of caregiving as a service when her father had a stroke in his hometown of Austin during the pandemic and she could not be there to help. As the “oldest daughter,” and only daughter, she was in the role primary caregiver for her parents. She knew then the importance ComForCare and their ability to act as family was truly a worthy cause. She has enjoyed meeting new clients and helping ensure they are cared for when families need with caring for a loved 0ne.

Over 20 years ago, I was a young college graduate who couldn’t wait to start my life. My outgoing personality and love for business led me down the path of commercial real estate. While it was fulfilling and allowed me to be there for my three children (and all their school activities and sporting events), I always knew I should be helping others on a deeper level. (Chalk it up to the minister’s son in me!) I’m excited to have taken the leap and be embarking on my ComForCare journey.

I remember when my beloved grandparents moved from their home into a skilled nursing facility. While their needs were met and they were well taken care of, something was always missing. That something was the dignity of living out their golden years in the comfort of their own home. And, while I can’t go back in time, being able to give others the gift of home care is truly my honor.

As a trusted advisor and leader, I chose ComForCare as my next career move for a reason. I’m proud of the level of service and resources ComForCare provides. It is simply a notch above the rest. But, of course, it’s not just a business to me. Everyone on my team is required to view their work as a calling and life passion, just like I do. Nothing means more than your loved one’s care and being able to count on your support system is an absolute must. That’s why dependability is on the top of my list.
From the first client assessment made to the host of reputable home care services in between, ComForCare caregivers are rigorously trained, screened and held to the highest standards. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Advocating for children has always been a natural calling for me. In fact, when I’m not spending time with my family or watching a Broncos game, you’ll find me volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Dallas youth. Extending this passion to elderly care is a natural fit.
