Father, Trusted Leader, Sports Fan
“Being able to give others the gift of home care is truly my honor.”
Over 20 years ago, I was a young college graduate who couldn’t wait to start my life. My outgoing personality and love for business led me down the path of commercial real estate. While it was fulfilling and allowed me to be there for my three children (and all their school activities and sporting events), I always knew I should be helping others on a deeper level. (Chalk it up to the minister’s son in me!) I’m excited to have taken the leap and be embarking on my ComForCare journey.
I remember when my beloved grandparents moved from their home into a skilled nursing facility. While their needs were met and they were well taken care of, something was always missing. That something was the dignity of living out their golden years in the comfort of their own home. And, while I can’t go back in time, being able to give others the gift of home care is truly my honor.
As a trusted advisor and leader, I chose ComForCare as my next career move for a reason. I’m proud of the level of service and resources ComForCare provides. It is simply a notch above the rest. But, of course, it’s not just a business to me. Everyone on my team is required to view their work as a calling and life passion, just like I do. Nothing means more than your loved one’s care and being able to count on your support system is an absolute must. That’s why dependability is on the top of my list.
From the first client assessment made to the host of reputable home care services in between, ComForCare caregivers are rigorously trained, screened and held to the highest standards. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Advocating for children has always been a natural calling for me. In fact, when I’m not spending time with my family or watching a Broncos game, you’ll find me volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Dallas youth. Extending this passion to elderly care is a natural fit.
Introducing caregiver of the year, Alicia J. Alicia worked 177 days and 215 shifts with over 27 different clients. Alicia has been consistently available to work last-minute shifts or call-offs. Alicia is a client favorite and we are proud to have her on our team.
Announcing caregiver of the month this month, Sharon G, another wonderful caregiver who has been reliable, consistently willing to fill in shifts, and never misses a shift. Sharon’s work ethic and outstanding performance have earned her the title for the month and we appreciate all that she does for us and our clients.
Esther Kaikai is our superstar scheduler. Esther has worked tirelessly to ensure that all shifts are correctly staffed. She intercepts client calls when schedule changes have to be made and she very skillfully fills even the hardest to fill shifts. We are proud to have Esther on the team!
Laura Smithen is our Alt Admin and oversees operations. Her background is being an entrepreneur of her own business so sales and operations are her top strengths. She is excited to use her experience to help streamline the back office so the real attention can be on our clients and providing excellent care. We are proud to have Laura on the team!
Addi is our Administrator. Addi developed a passion for helping seniors’ live life on their terms when she was only 22 years old and cared for her mother during her illness and end of life. This invaluable journey not only honed her skills, it also reinforced the importance of empathy, patience, and respect within home care settings. Addi has been working to provide senior care for almost two decades; however, she has always dedicated her career to enhancing the quality of life for those in need. Raised as an army brat and the youngest of 7 children, she understands family dynamics and is committed to ComForCare’s goal of honoring each individual’s unique story while fostering a nurturing environment in their golden years.
