Christina Getz and Marvin McBride – Florida

“Christina Getz and Marvin McBride are a sister-brother team of licensed clinical health care professionals who extend their experience outside facility walls to help older adults thrive in their communities and maintain their sense of autonomy.”

Our Passion for This Business

Christina and Marvin opened their ComForCare location to leverage their many years of healthcare experience to support older adults who want to remain an integral part of their communities. They are committed to helping their patients navigate health conditions that can compromise independence and confidence. Christina and Marvin recognize that this process is not always easy, but that it can be when working with a team that has extensive medical knowledge and a shared passion for helping others. Christina and Marvin love caring for people and believe that building relationships is the best way to understand and address their clients’ needs and desires. Their relationships with their clients have made their lives richer and more fulfilling. They would love the opportunity to get to know you and to learn how they can help you thrive in your home and community.

Experience

As the owner and operator, Christina works full-time in the business. Her brother Marvin, is currently employed by an area hospital as a hospitalist and works in the business part-time. Business ownership is a familiar endeavor to Christina and Marvin. As teenagers, they started a window-washing business together that extended well into their college years. This experience taught them that they work well together and know how to leverage each other’s strengths. Christina began her career as a Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit nurse before transitioning to home infusion therapy as a skilled in-home care nurse. The aspect of in-home nursing Christina loved most was helping people in their own homes and building long-term relationships. Christina later transitioned into a career as a financial advisor. For over ten years, she helped her clients identify and implement healthy and balanced financial goals. Combined with her years of clinical experience, her background in fiscal management provides Christina with a unique perspective to provide the best care and prepare for it financially. Currently, Marvin is a board certified family practice MD and works as a hospitalist. He has experience caring for older adults who transition from hospital to home or into other facility settings. Marvin’s focus is on providing safe discharge and ensuring that families have access to the right resources during this transition period. His current position as a doctor comes with access to service providers that many clients or families may not realize are available. These connections have made a big difference in the lives of his patients.

What You Can Expect

Christina and Marvin provide clinical oversight and health coaching. They ensure that clients and families have access to resource coordination services, including education that will help all parties best understand a diagnosis and design a plan together that allows an older adult to thrive in their home. Christina and Marvin take an active care approach. Their goal is to help improve your loved ones’ outcomes, so they feel and do better in all aspects of their lives. “We strive to truly match requested services to maintain our clients’ health and achieve their personal goals. We look at the role of being an in-home care provider as our ability to journey with people regardless of health status and mobility. We serve as a trusted resource, so they can function as their optimal best selves.”
