Someone who once ran a household, a classroom, or a business may now find a simple morning confusing. Imagine walking into every room and having to figure out what you are supposed to be doing there. Exhausting, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A familiar routine works like a handrail on a staircase. You may not need it every second, but you are very glad it is there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is what I see when a day has a reliable shape:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fewer moments of \u201cWhere am I supposed to be?\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Smoother mealtimes and bedtimes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Less agitation, because nobody is bracing for surprises.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Family members who finally stop putting out fires all day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-a-predictable-day-can-look-like\">What a Predictable Day Can Look Like<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I never hand families a rigid script. A steady evening routine is one of the best tools I know for softening it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-a-caregiver-keeps-the-routine-alive\">How a Caregiver Keeps the Routine Alive<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Writing a routine down is easy. Living it day after day is the hard part.
