The FDA notes that age-related changes can affect how the body handles medicines, while multiple medicines can increase the chance of side effects and interactions. A current list gives pharmacists and clinicians a clearer view of what the person is actually taking across different offices and settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The list should include more than prescription bottles. Add over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, dietary supplements, herbal products, creams, inhalers, drops and products used only occasionally. A product taken once a week or \u201cas needed\u201d can still matter.
